What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable treatment that aims to enhance the appearance of the skin, and tackles skin concerns that arise from causes such as genetics, weight loss or ageing. Profhilo is described as a Skin Booster and is designed to improve the quality of the skin by injecting hydrating and skin strengthening Hyaluronic Acid into the upper layers of the skin.

In comparison to other injectables such as Anti-Wrinkle Injections or Dermal Fillers, Profhilo doesn’t cause an immediate change to the appearance. Instead, the Hyaluronic Acid (a highly effective humectant) needs to spread through the skin to increase hydration levels. This improves the appearance of the skin, becoming smoother and improving the tone.

Profhilo is administered in two sessions, 4-6 weeks apart. After this to maintain the results, you will need follow up sessions roughly every 6 months. It can also be injected in conjunction with other injectable treatments to enhance the effect and give you the best results possible. Your consultant will inject the Profhilo in 10 points on your face, 5 on each side:

  • At the chin
  • The outside of the nose
  • The outer corner of the eye
  • The outer cheek
  • The mid-jawline

Initially, this leaves small lumps in these areas which will settle and flatten as the Profhilo is absorbed by your skin.

Words from our clients:

Benefits of Profhilo Treatment

Profhilo is an innovative treatment which has many benefits which often outweigh some of the drawbacks of other injectable treatments.

  • Improved skin health – Hyaluronic Acid is a compound that is found naturally within our body – mainly in our skin, eyes and joints. It holds up to 1000 times its own weight in water making it a highly effective way to retain water in the skin, keeping it hydrated. Whereas topical Hyaluronic Acid serums can be effective, they are not able to penetrate the skin as deeply as Profhilo which is much more effective for chronic skin dehydration which may be causing discomfort and skin dullness.
  • Improved skin tone – Dehydrated skin can look dull, and this exacerbates the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or any texture. Profhilo provides long term skin hydration which reduces the appearance of dullness, texture and fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Limited change in shape or volume – Some people don’t want to use Anti- Ageing Injectables or Dermal Filler as they’re concerned that it will dramatically change the shape or volume of areas of their face. In comparison, Profhlio doesn’t make shape or volume changes, although it is made from the same main ingredient as Filler, but simply improves the tone and texture of the skin. For this reason, it is a very popular treatment for people who have never tried injectables before
  • Minimal downtime – As with all injectable treatments, there is minimal downtime or recovery time, and you will be able to return to your normal day to day activities very quickly. Profhilo is injected into different areas over the face and at first can look like there are little lumps under your skin. This should even out within 24 hours.

Profhilo Consultants

We have invited a selection of the country's very best consultants to join us at the Cadogan Clinic so that you can be sure that whatever the nature of your treatment, you will be seeing one of the top practitioners in the country.

What Conditions Can Profhilo Treat?

Due to the versatile nature of Profhilo, it can be used to treat a number of concerns and conditions.

Neck Lines

The skin on the neck is very delicate and prone to developing lines and wrinkles. These can either be vertical lines known as bands or horizontal lines that are known as necklace lines. Profhilo can help to improve the skin quality and tone which can reduce the appearance of these lines.

Jowls

By improving the tone of the skin, Profhilo can have a skin tightening effect. Your doctor may suggest Dermal Filler or Anti-Ageing Injectables to improve the appearance of Jowls, but Profhilo can also help, without changing the shape of the lower face. You can combine Profhilo with other treatments to enhance the effects.

Marionette Lines

Marionette Lines run in a straight line from the outer corners of the mouth downwards to the chin. By improving the tone and texture of the skin, Profhilo can reduce the appearance of these lines, whilst also strengthening the skin and improving your skin health.

Nasolabial Lines

Nasolabial Lines, also known as smile lines, are a common concern of people of all ages. They are the lines which run from the outer corners of your nostrils to the outer corners of the mouth. They are deeper on some people than others. Similar to Marionette Lines, Profhilo will reduce the appearance of Nasolabial Lines by improving the tone and texture of the skin.
