What Are Cheek Fillers?

Cheek Fillers are used to restore lost volume to the cheeks. This is done with Dermal Fillers – made from Hyaluronic Acid, which is a substance that is naturally found in the body already.

As we age, the proteins collagen and elastin in the skin begin to break down and aren’t produced as quickly. This combined with the loss of the fat and bone which lie under the skin, providing structure and support, results in sunken or sagging cheeks. It is also normal for the appearance of the cheek bones to drop with age – adding to an aged appearance.

Other causes, such as weight loss or illness, can also cause the cheeks to either sink or gain excess skin resulting in sagging. There are many options for how this can be treated, and Cheek Filler provides an effective non-surgical option.

Injecting Dermal Filler into the cheeks instantly restores the lost volume and the appearance of lifted cheekbones which are associated with youth.

Benefits of Cheek Filler

By injecting Dermal Fillers into sunken or drooping cheeks, the volume is restored, and the tissue is supported again, giving a more lifted appearance. There are many Cheek Filler benefits, making it a popular non-surgical treatment:

  • Defined and enhanced cheekbones – For people who have either lost definition due to age, or who would just prefer a more lifted appearance to their cheekbones, Cheekbone Filler enhances the appearance of the upper cheek area
  • Increased facial volume – Losing volume in the cheeks is one of the first signs of ageing. By restoring this volume achieves a youthful appearance to the face
  • Smoothing out lines and wrinkles – Sagging cheeks caused by ageing or weight loss can lead to lines and wrinkles which can create an aged or sad appearance to the face. Cheek Filler can fill and smooth these lines, rejuvenating the skin’s appearance
  • Increased confidence – A changing facial appearance may lead to a drop in confidence which can affect a person’s personal and professional lives. Cheek Filler is a very quick and effective treatment with minimal downtime which can improve confidence and quality of life.
  • Improved facial proportions – Even for patients who aren’t worried about sunken or sagging cheeks, Cheek Filler can be beneficial to improve the proportions of the face. A skilled practitioner can create an optical illusion to make the face appear slimmer using filler in the cheeks.

Cheek Filler is a highly beneficial treatment to enhance the appearance of an area of the face where natural changes have a big impact.

Which Conditions Can Cheek Filler Treat?

Although Cheek Dermal Filler is a treatment which primarily restores volume and lifts the cheekbones, this can address a number of common conditions and concerns.

Facial Asymmetry

Although everyone has an asymmetrical face to some extent, for some people this is more prominent or causes more concern. Facial Asymmetry can be caused by genetics, medical conditions, injury or previous surgeries such as dental work. Cheek Filler can be used to rebalance the facial proportions leading to a more even looking face.

Jowls

Jowls are the sagging lower portion of the face which can lead to a softer jawline and a weak chin. As the tissue on the cheeks drop and sag the tissue pushes down on the lower area of the face and can cause the other areas to drop down as well. By filling the cheeks with Dermal Filler, this can help to lift the lower areas of the face as well, reducing the appearance of the Jowls.

Nasolabial Lines

The Nasolabial Lines, also known as smile lines, are the lines that run from the outer corners at the bottom of the nose to the outer corners of the upper lip. Most people have them, however for some people they are deeper. Filler can be applied specifically to this area to smooth these lines out, however injecting Dermal Filler into the cheeks can also improve the appearance of the Nasolabial Lines.

Marionette Lines

This is a common concern which can arise through ageing or weight loss. Marionette Lines run downwards from the outside corners of the mouth to the jawline and can make the face look more aged or increase the appearance of Jowls, a Double Chin or Neck Lines. By injecting Filler into the lower cheeks, this will increase the volume in this area and smooth the Marionette Lines.
