Nose Tip Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose tip suspension or a nose lift, is a surgical procedure which reshapes the tip of the nose whilst leaving the rest of the nose as it is.
The operation is most suited to patients who have good bone structure who do not want to drastically change the appearance of their nose but instead are seeking subtle improvements to only the tip. This includes lifting the tip of the nose, correcting deformity such as a bulbous tip or addressing the length of the nose.
Performed under general anaesthetic in our Chelsea based hospital, in central London, nose tip rhinoplasty is less invasive than traditional Rhinoplasty. During the surgery, your surgeon will modify the structure of the underlying cartilage, creating the perfect nasal tip. The procedure usually takes up to 2 hours and you will be able to go home the same day to recover.

A London nose tip lift is a popular choice for people who are looking to change the appearance of the tip of the nose. There are several reasons for this:
This procedure has applications for both men and women. For example, whilst a prominent nose is typical of a male facial structure, a hooked nose can sometimes cause patients to be self-concious. In this instance, a simple nose lift could help to gently lessen this over-pronounced feature. For women, a pixie nose lift is often the most desierable procedure, as the pixie nose is a characteristically feminine feature that gently slopes upwards.
Because these are two very common concerns for patients, we're able to procure beautiful nose lift before and after results without extensive surgery. Such a simple surgery can be so powerful.
Words from our clients:

My procedure went very well and with the excellent care of the nursing staff, I made a speedy and full recovery. Would recommend to anyone."Eva Berry
"At the beginning before the operation the nurse taking care of me made me feel so comfortable. The surgeon and anesthetist helped me feel so calm. Fantastic before and after treatment"Scarlett Elliott
"The girls on the reception at the clinic were very pleasant and professional. The nurse who took out my stitches after my surgery was just lovely and took me through step by step what she was doing and she also recommended a great cream to use to help with healing."Georgina Nolan
“I was treated with care and provided with thorough knowledge about the procedure I was undertaking. My surgeon was very methodical (a perfectionist) and I felt I received A class treatment."Courtney O'Sullivan
"Outstanding experience from the first appointment to being discharged. Very professional, friendly and a fantastic outcome."Gemma Stevenson
"Reception staff very welcoming and efficient. Both nurses who I dealt with were fantastic, and the whole team (anaesthetist, surgeon etc) were friendly but professional, and really put my mind at ease. That I was able to stay later than I perhaps needed after my surgery to fit in with my husbands schedule was greatly appreciated."Emma Davies

A nose tip lift is a straightforward, yet effective, procedure to lift a drooping tip, shorten an overly long nose or correct a bulbous nasal tip. It is less invasive than a traditional Rhinoplasty and you will have fewer incisions, leading to less scarring.
Before undergoing rhinoplasty suspension, you will be shown 3D simulations to illustrate the new shape and results of the procedure.
Your nose will require three weeks to set into its new shape. As part of the healing process, you will be asked to wear dressings covering the nose which should be kept in place for four to five days after your nose tip rhinoplasty. These dressings help to protect the new shape of the nose and support your nose as it heals.
You may experience some nose tip swelling after your nose tip surgery as well as bruising around the tip of your nose following the procedure. This may also cause the tip of nose to feel hard after rhinoplasty, but rest assured this is a part of the recovery process and the swelling will naturally relieve. Any bruising should resolve within 10-14 days and the swelling should have calmed down fully within 6-8 weeks.
It is vital that you follow all aftercare instructions issued by your surgeon to help aid the healing process, keep your nose tip in its new position and prevent any complications.
If you are interested in having a nose tip rhinoplasty, contact our surgical patient advisors who will answer any questions for you and organise an appointment with the best surgeon to address your concerns.
Rhinoplasty can address different cosmetic concerns around your nose. If you feel the tip of your nose is too large or bulbous, but the structure of the rest of your nose doesn’t cause you any worries, then the nose tip reduction procedure will be able to make the tip of your nose smaller. Alternatively, a full, traditional Rhinoplasty can also address concerns around the tip of your nose, as well as other areas such as the bridge of your nose and the internal structures.
One of the most common requests from Nose Tip Rhinoplasty as well as Traditional Rhinoplasty is to lift a drooping or hooked nose tip. For women, this is often comparable to a pixie nose lift, though male patients also benefit from this to straighten the tip. Your surgeon will be able to show how dramatically they can lift the tip of your nose through a 3D simulation. However, your surgeon does not have complete control over how your body heals, and it may be that the tip of your nose does drop slightly from the original position they have put it in, but it will still be more lifted than its pre-surgery placement. By following your surgeon’s aftercare and recovery advice as closely as possible, you will reduce the likelihood of this happening.

How should I prepare before a nose suspension procedure?
As with all procedures, your consultant will review your medication and make a number of recommendations ahead of the procedure. You should stop using all kinds of blood thinners ahead of a nose thread lift. Types of blood thinners include warfarin and aspirin.
We strongly recommend that you limit your alcohol consumption ahead of the nose suspension procedure, and cut back on smoking. Ideally we would like you to cease both of these activities before undergoing a nose lift.
Is a nose suspension procedure painful?
Because there is no intervention with the bones and due to the fact that the operation is very short, nose suspension is a painless procedure. Any pain that may arise is easily controlled with pain killers.
Will I be left with scarring?
Tiny holes are made with injections rather than incisions so the patient is left without any scarring.
Are there any specific post-operative care instructions?
The paper bands which are fitted post-surgery should be kept in place for 4-5 days to ensure the nose keeps its new shape. Patients should be vigilant to avoid any impact to the nose. Patients should also refrain from taking blood thinning medication and avoid any food which may cause an allergic reaction.
How long is the recovery?
The recovery period for a nose tip lift is remarkably quick. Dressings must be kept in place for five days and you must be very careful to avoid any impact to the face during this time as this may cause the nose to collapse. It would be best to avoid any activities which will increase the blood pressure, such as certain types of exercise and sexual activity, during this period. Your surgeon will be able to advise you further on this.
Your nose will be fully recovered in three weeks.
When will I see results and are they permanent?
Nose tip lift results can be seen immediately. Rhinoplasty suspension produces permanent results.
However, you must take great caution in the two weeks immediately after the procedure. During this period, if the delicate threads holding up the tip are broken, the nose will drop or collapse, with the nasal tip reverting back to its pre-procedure state. Further procedures would be required to restore the tip of the nose.
By three weeks, the nose should be fixed into its new position, and will remain there even if the threads are broken.
What is the minimum age for a nose suspension?
It is recommended that patients are a least 18 years of age before undergoing nose suspension. As with all surgical procedures, it is advised that patients have finished developing.
Will my nasal bone be broken?
There will be no need to break the nasal bone for a rhinoplasty suspension.
In a surgical rhinoplasty, it is a common practice to fracture the nasal bones near where they join the face. Surgical nose reduction requires the removal of cartilage and bone. As a nose tip lift only concerns the fleshy tip of the nose, then this breaking and removal of bone is not required for this particular procedure.
Will the nose drop or collapse after the nose suspension?
The nose will be fully set three weeks post-procedure and will not drop or collapse, regardless of whether the suspensions are released. However if the suspensions are released within the two weeks immediately following the procedure, the nose will return to its original form. A further procedure will be required to reinstate the new nasal tip. You must take great care to avoid impact or trauma to the nose during this time and avoid any activity which will raise your blood pressure.
Are nasal splints required?
Paper bands are used to protect and support the shape of the nose for 4-5 days post-surgery. Splints are not required in a nose suspension procedure.
When is a nose tip lift not appropriate?
A nose tip lift is not appropriate for those under the age of 18 as the body is still developing.
If you require more extensive nose reshaping or help to tackle other issues such as breathing problems caused by a deviated septum, then a surgical nose job would be the best option for you.
Nose suspension results are permanent, so if you are unsure whether to take the plunge, it may be worth opting for non-surgical rhinoplasty so you can ‘try out’ a new nose tip first. A non-surgical nose job is not permanent and can be reversed.
Mr. Bryan Mayou
By precisely sculpting, lifting and reshaping the nasal tip, Nose Tip Rhinoplasty enhances facial harmony in this primary area of facial aesthetics. The task at hand for your surgeon is to achieve natural-looking results that harmonise with your unique nasal and facial features, ultimately improving the nose's appearance and boosting confidence. Nose Tip Rhinoplasty can address nose tip concerns following injury, or simply from genetic or natural occurring issues.Mr. Bryan Mayou
