Ms Monica Fawzy is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon specialising in facial surgery with a special interest in Head and Neck reconstruction and Facial Palsy reanimation.

Ms Fawzy’s approach is to listen to patient's concerns and find out more about them, including medical, personal, and work circumstances to help decide whether surgery is indeed the best solution for them. For suitable candidates, she offers tailored surgical plans that aim to be as minimally invasive as possible. She prides herself in sustainable and natural results which also tackle patients’ concerns fully.

With a multilingual background, Ms Fawzy was educated in a French Lycée then sent to Boarding School at Roedean, in Brighton. Initially interested in pursuing a career in art, a family member’s illness led her to follow in her parent’s footsteps into Medicine, qualifying as a doctor in 2002.

Having taught Anatomy at the University of Oxford and Guy’s Hospital, and trained in several surgical specialities, Ms Fawzy became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2006. She undertook further specialist training in Plastic Surgery in the East of England, cementing this with a year-long fellowship in Craniofacial and Aesthetic Surgery in Paris, followed by another fellowship in Microsurgery in Cambridge. She furthered her experience with visits to various centres in Europe and the USA, both before and after completing her formal training in 2015 when she joined the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery. Ms Fawzy is a member of the leadership team of the BAPRAS as well as a registered member of BAAPS and ASPS.

Ms Fawzy has an NHS reconstructive practice with a subspecialist interest in head and neck microsurgical reconstruction and facial palsy in one of the busiest units in the UK. She has held positions of leadership with regard to patient safety and governance, and is also passionate about education. She is deputy program director and educational director of the post-graduate training scheme for plastic surgeons in the East of England, and has written a textbook guiding trainee plastic surgeons to successfully prepare for the final plastic surgery FRCS(Plast) exam, one of the final hurdles before becoming a consultant.

Ms Fawzy is passionate about extending these training opportunities to surgeons in less fortunate areas of the world and has served with several surgical charities to this end. In addition, she is a member of UK Med, a charity that provides urgent medical and surgical care in areas that have been affected by war zones and natural disasters.
