Wrinkles

Wrinkles are a completely natural (and normal) part of the ageing process. As we age, our skin becomes thinner and drier, losing its elasacity and collagen and making it harder for the skin to self-repair and spring back. Repetitive movement of the facial muscles such as laughing, talking, frowning and squinting tend to cause the first signs of wrinkles at a younger age, as grooves are formed under the skin.

Areas which receive the most amount of sun exposure are more prone to wrinkles as the ultraviolet light breaks down the elastin and collagen which form the skin's connective tissue. This causes the skin to weaken and lose flexibility, ultimately leading to the skin drooping, followed by the onset of wrinkles.
