What is a Neck Lift?

A neck lift is a surgical procedure which is usually carried out under general anaesthetic to tighten the skin along the jaw and neck for a smoother and more youthful appearance.

A neck lift surgery can treat:

+ Excess fatty deposits underneath the chin and jowls.
+ Excess skin and fat in the lower face that creates the appearance of jowls.
+ Loose and sagging neck skin.
+ Muscle banding of the scraggy neck.

As we age, we naturally begin to lose the youthful contours of our face and neck, these can be accelerated by other factors such as hereditary, gravity, stress and even environmental conditions that may affect the skin on the face and neck.

A neck lift is a perfect option for someone who feels very happy with their face, and is not ready for a full facelift, yet feels the effects of age and gravity on their neck, perhaps resulting in jowls or a “turkey neck”. If your neck area doesn’t match your face area, then it might be time for a neck lift in order to retain that youthful look.

We at the Cadogan clinic have two main surgical options; the standard neck lift, which is effectively a lower face lift and The Cadogan Swan Neck procedure which is particularly effective as a treatment for the Turkey Neck.

This procedure is effective alone but, where necessary, is combined with a face lift to give dramatic results. Your surgeon will discuss this with you in your initial consultation and recommend what is best for your individual case.
