Consultant Dermatologist Dr Alexis Granite has been interviewed by the Daily Mail on the controversial beauty ingredient – cannabis.
The ingredients hemp oil and cannabidiol (CBD) are extracted from the cannabis sativa plant and are being used by luxury and High Street brands in beauty products. The ingredients are renowned for their healing, moisturising, anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties, making the products extremely appealing to customers.
Dr Granite comments, ‘CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties are promising for skincare. ‘If you can reduce inflammation, you can also reduce ageing.’

‘We have to be careful because the studies that exist so far are small,’ says Dr Granite. ‘As the U.S. continues to legalise cannabis there will be bigger scientific studies, which will be very interesting.’
