In November 2019, The Cadogan Clinic was delighted to host the London live Regenerative Plastic Surgery Meeting, an educational conference which saw over 150 surgeons from around the world come together to share their knowledge and progress in the field of regenerative surgery.
Five live surgical procedures were performed at the Cadogan Clinic on patients and broadcast to the Royal Society of Medicine, demonstrating the most cutting-edge techniques in rejuvenation by the most esteemed global surgeons.
As part of this conference, revered beauty journalist Alice Hart-Davis, who is also Founder of The Tweakments Guide, underwent a stem cell treatment for facial rejuvenation with Mr Tunc Tiryaki, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Cadogan Clinic. As an anti-ageing expert who has enthusiastically tried and reviewed countless aesthetics procedures, Alice was keen to experience for herself what leading plastic surgeons are dubbing as “the future of anti-ageing.”
The procedure was a steam-assisted fat transfer, using Stromal Vascular Fraction.
(SVF) which is stem cells exacted from the fat, which harnesses the healing power from the body to regenerate.
In the procedure, fat was harvested from the thighs through liposuction, which was then “spun” to separate the fat and the stem cells. The fat was then combined with SVF and reinjected into the face to help rebuild fat loss, address loss of volume in the soft tissue and rejuvenate the skin.
Fat was mixed with SVF to help rebuild and replace a loss of volume in the temples, cheeks, jaw & chin and was also used to reshape the tip of the nose. Stem cells were also injected around the border of the lip for improved definition. Micro-needling with SVF and hyaluronic acid was carried out on the face, neck and décolletage to help rejuvenate the skin and address fine lines and signs of ageing.
Alice has written about her patient journey in a feature in the Daily Mail, six weeks after her treatment and is delighted with the results, which will continue to improve over the next 6 months.
Full effects of the procedure take around 3 months to be fully visible with improvements continuing up to 6 months’ post-treatment. The results are natural and long-lasting, more durable than other aesthetic treatments and use the patient’s own cells so there is no risk of the body rejecting it.
