Laura Askins is an HCPC registered Highly Specialist Senior Dietitian specialising in a broad spectrum of areas including weight management, gastroenterology, nutrition support throughout cancer care, IBS and heart disease.
Gaining an Honours degree in Human Nutrition at Northumbria University in 2004 Laura worked as a dietetic assistant at The Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Working alongside leading national specialists, Laura was inspired to further her studies, pursuing a career in Dietetics at Leeds Beckett University in 2009.
With an Honours post-graduate diploma, Laura worked in several hospitals in the North East before moving to the Royal Marsden Hospital, in 2014, where she has developed and excelled in her career, specialising in cancer care.
Laura has led and participated in several areas of research which have focused on the care of patients living with, or recovering from lung, head and neck cancer. She has presented her work nationally and within her team has been the recipient of British Medical award. She is currently the Clinical Lead Dietitian for head and neck cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea.
