Chin and Neck Liposuction

As you get older and possibly put on a few pounds, the area of skin underneath the chin can become more full, plump and rounded. Fortunately, this can be easily treated by neck liposuction. Liposuction reduces the fatty pocket under the chin, the neck and the jaw line. It also tightens the skin as it heals, pulling it back to restore the angle between the chin and the neck.

To learn more about chin and neck liposuction in London or to book a consultation with one of our consultants, please call 020 7901 8500 or fill in the form on this website and we will respond to you by email or phone.

Benefits of Chin and Neck Liposuction

Liposuction can significantly improve the appearance of your chin, your neck and your profile. It can reduce the pockets of fat under the chin and neck, to give you a slimmer appearance, overall.

Is Chin and Neck Liposuction Right For You?

As with any medical procedure, it is important to maintain realistic expectations regarding neck or chin lipo results and these will be discussed at the consultation with the consultant. Find out if chin and neck lipo is right for you by reading more below.

About Chin and Neck Liposuction

What happens during neck and chin liposuction?

• The area to be treated is marked on the skin before chin liposuction surgery.

• This area often extends over the jaw line to reduce the jowls at the same time.

• Tiny stab incisions are marked and placed either side of the neck below the ear or in a singular spot just under the point of the chin.

• A photograph is taken for the record and to compare at a later date with the after photograph.

What To Expect On The Day Of Chin And Neck Liposuction?

Before neck and chin liposuction: The procedure can be readily carried out under a local anaesthetic, but some prefer IV sedation or general anaesthesia.

During chin and neck liposuction: The chin or neck liposuction procedure is carried out through stab incisions immediately below the ear, or just below the point of the chin, but only a small amount of fat is removed. A single stitch may be used to close the tiny incisions and a tape applied to hold the skin back into the neck. Generally, the liposuction takes an hour, depending on the size of the area treated.

After chin and neck liposuction:

• Any dressings over the incisions are removed within a few hours of the chin fat removal surgery.

• The holding tape is removed within the next two days.

• You should expect some minimal, yet visible bruising for up to three weeks following chin liposuction.

• It is common for men to experience more bruising than women, thanks to their heavier beard and increased facial blood supply.

• Most people can carry on their normal working life as long as they are prepared to put up with a little bruising.

• The healing process ensures that the ultimate result is fairly impressive.
