Mark Gittos qualified from Auckland Medical School in 1984, where he won the Carrick Robertson Prize in Surgery. During his plastic surgery speciality training he was also awarded the Davis and Geck Prize for Surgical Research. In 1996 he was appointed as Specialist Consultant to the prestigious St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns in Chelmsford. Since then Mr Gittos has been at the forefront of the advancement of post mastectomy reconstruction using skin and nipple sparing surgical techniques and has authored a number of scientific papers on this subject.
